Cransworth Peace

I felt peace in this valley

With its views so serene

Sheep and goats chewing, the grass so green

The vistas of heathers showing under the haze

Oh yes it’s so peaceful as at it I gaze

The hedges of honeysuckles smell oh! , so sweet

There’s plenty of wood nuts for squirrels to eat

I hear gurgling of springs with water so clear

Yes, long I’ll remember my stay with you here

Up hill and down dale, we’ve been everywhere

Breathing in deeply of lovely clean air

We’ve even met pheasants walking in pairs

The hen hatched out 10 little chicks

With colours of brown and yellow they mix

We’ve not much time left

We’ll leave with regret

But memories we have , we will never forget
